Jeffrey G. Cooper

OLEAN - Jeffrey G. Cooper, of 339 Paragon Ave., Olean, passed away Thursday (May 28, 2015) unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a automobile accident.

Born on Feb. 26, 1956, in Olean, he was a son of Glenn and Kathryn Bearfield Cooper. He had been married to the former Maureen McMahon, who predeceased him in 2005. In July 2010 in Cuba, he married the former Hattie Smith, who survives.

Jeff was a graduate of the Kenmore West High School class of 1974. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Oct. 7, 1974, until May 27, 1975. After his military service, he furthered his education and received a degree in environmental science.

He was employed by Aurora Environmental of West Falls, where he conducted asbestos inspections.

In addition to his parents, Glenn and Kathryn Cooper of Cuba, he is survived by a stepson, Andra Smith of Buffalo; four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Gregory Cooper of Florida and Stephen (Sheila) Cooper of North Tonawanda; three sisters, Kathleen Becvar of Chambersburg, Pa., Rosealie Cooper of Cuba and Anne Marie Cooper of Florida; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Acacia Park, North Tonawanda.
