Born Sept. 16, 1931, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Burton W. and Adeline Sckerl Daker, he married Yuki Henna on Feb. 27, 1963, in Naha, Okinawa. She survives.
Also surviving are his father; one son, Richard (and Katie); one daughter, Anna Daker; one brother, Jon; and one sister, Penny Meyers.
His mother preceded him in death.
He was a retired Marine veteran, awarded the Bronze Star in the Korean War and the Purple Heart in the Vietnam War.
He was a physical therapy assistant, working for the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
