Monterey Rites Set For Crash Victom, Lowell Strand, 42.
Winamac-Final rites for Lowell E Strand, 42 of Chicago, a former Monterey resident who was killed in a truck accident, will be at 2pm Saturday at the Monterey Methodist church. The Rev. Norris King will officiate and burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery in Starke county.
Strand died Tuesday night as the result of a truck accident at Wanatah.
Born March 9 1923 at Bass Lake he was the son of John and Ella Warkentien Strand. He was married to Bertha Sanders, who survives.
A truck driver, he was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Winamac and the Methodist Church at Monterey.
Surviving with the wife are the parents, of Monterey, and four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Manzuk of Culver and Mrs. Glady Pugh, Mrs. Eleanor Brown and Mrs. Kathryn Kirchgessner, all of Winamac. Another sister preceded him in death.
