ASHTON, Alexander James
Alexander James Ashton, son of (*living)Ashton and (*living)Higgs Ashton, died of complications from a seizure Dec 15, 2011 in Roseville, CA, at age 27.
Born in Honolulu, HI Mar. 29, 1984, he and his family lived in Saudi Arabia. for his first 6 yrs; in Clifton Park, NY for 4 yrs, and in No. CA since 1995. He was a professional cellist. He was a member of the Sacramento Youth Symphony Premier Orchestra for 8 yrs and toured Brazil, Italy, other parts of Europe where they won 1st place in the prestigious Int'l Youth and Music Festival in Vienna. He was a member of the Folsom Symphony the last 6 yrs. He also played with Sacramento Valley Choral Society for 7 yrs. Alexander studied with a number of fine cellists in the Sacramento and Bay Areas, and he was in summer music academies and chamber music groups including the Sacramento Chamber Music and the California Summer Music program in Pebble Beach. He was also a member of and recorded with Broken Iris and Green Audio bands, popular in the Sacramento area, 6 yrs.
Alexander was a young man who was strong of body, soft of heart and sweet of spirit. He is survived by his parents, son (*living), grandmother (*living), brother (*living), sister (*living), nephew (*living), niece (*living), uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral: Noon Wed.
