Officer Bandy was killed in the line of duty. While him and other officers were attempting to stop a van which had to do with an abduction earlier in the day. As the officers were attempting to stop the van a suspect opened fire through one of the rear windows in the van strikeing Officer Bandy who was in the passenger seat of the first marked patrol car... The four suspects in the van were all charged with first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison... Officer Bandy is survived by his daughter, parents, and several brothers...
