Dorothy Evelyn Beale, 92, of Sterling Heights, died Thursday evening, May 28, 2015.

Dorothy was born in Detroit on October 17, 1922 to Julius and Lily Ochadleus. She attended high school in Detroit and worked at the Packard Plant during World War II as an electrical tester shortly after graduating. She met and married Richard Brown at a young age, but that marriage unfortunately did not work out. Dorothy was lucky enough to be blessed with two marriages after Richard, both of which to wonderful men, Harry Hamlin and Howard Beale, and both of which lasting over 20 years. Harry and Howard both preceded Dorothy in death.

There is a lot that can be said of Dorothy. She had a great sense of humor, she was incredibly energetic, she loved animals, traveling, and helping others... the list is extensive. Above all though, Dorothy was a good Christian woman who devoted much of her life to serving the Lord. Dorothy spent nearly 40 years of her life in Bradenton, Florida, and during that time she was very active at the Assembly of God. She became an ordained minister and served as Chaplain for many local area hospitals in Bradenton. Dorothy truly wasn't happy unless she was able to help others. She was an incredibly giving person who would open her heart and her home to anyone in need. Her home was often occupied with guest members of her church and her vehicles were often used to help those in need of rides. Her service to the Lord brought her to many corners of the country, and she even served as a missionary in Haiti. Dorothy loved her family dearly, and was always at the center of holiday gatherings. She was an accomplished home cook whose memorable meals are still being talked about today. Dorothy left this world to return to the Lord, but her loving, caring, and forever helpful spirit will never be forgotten.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Lily Ochadleus; her husbands, Harry Hamlin and Howard Beale; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernie (Nanette) Ochadleus, and Eddie (Ida) Ochadleus.
