Allan Patrick Senna, 76, of Glastonbury and formerly of East Hartford, peacefully returned to eternal peace and happiness on Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving and caring family after a courageous battle with cancer. Allan was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna (Hastings) Senna, after 48 years of marriage. He found love again with Claudette Courtemanche-Senna, whom he married last July of 2014, reconnecting after 56 years. Born in China on March 15, 1939, a son of the late Albert and Anne Senna, he had resided in East Hartford for many years prior to moving to Glastonbury several years ago. Allan was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1956 and proudly served in the U.S. Marines Corps from 1956-1962. He was employed by Satellite Aerospace of South Windsor for 31 years, working in Quality Control. A devout Catholic, Allan was an active and faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. He was an avid ten-pin bowler who participated in many tournaments including IBA and NEBA, winning several times. Allan was also a loyal fan of the Boston red Sox and New York Giants. Besides his loving wife, Claudette, of Glastonbury, Allan is survived by two "adopted daughters", Audrey A. Brown and her two children, Eric and Megan, and their cousin, Elijah Laraba, all of East Hartford, Arleen M. Peronto and her husband, Jim, of East Hartford; a brother, Albert Senna and his wife, Lima, of Ocean Side, CA; a sister, Aileen Senna in Virginia; two nephews, Dale Horn and his wife, Carolyn, and Gary Horn all in North Carolina; two nieces, Holly Senna in California, Karen Rafferty and her husband, Kevin, in Virginia; a sister-in-law, Carol Smoley and her husband, Brian, in Massachusetts; many grandnieces, grandnephews, and several dear friends, including David and Elizabeth Laraba of East Hartford. Funeral services will be Friday (June 12th) at 9:30 am from the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Center Cemetery, (Section E), Elm Street, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday (June 11th) from 4-7 pm.
