REUBEN STOLTENBERG

Reuben A. Stoltenberg, 57, prominent business leader in the village of Cleveland, passed away suddenly about 6:30 a.m. today at his home.
He had not been in ill health, and his death came as a shock to his family and friends.

Born in Cleveland on Oct. 2, 1891, the son of the late Adolph and Helen Doersch Stoltenberg, the deceased attended schools there. He later became associated with his father, a pioneer merchant in the village, in the A. Stoltenberg General Merchandise Store and Funeral chapel.
He was married on Oct. 20, 1915, to the former Miss Alma Hake at Cleveland. Following the death of his father in 1946, he assumed ownership of the business, and with his son, Earl, formed the R.A. Stoltenberg and Son company.
In addition to being a civic and business leader in Cleveland, he was a member of the Hardware, Appliance and Furniture association.

Survivors include the widow; one son, Earl; and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Koehn and Mrs. Elmer (Clara) Lutze.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Monday, and complete details will be carried in tomorrow’s Sheboygan Press.
