Lorenda Wagner, age 82, of 715 S. Lincoln Drive, Howards Grove, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Greendale Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sheboygan where she had been a resident the last month.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 1999, at St. John-St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Pastor Timothy Lindloff will officiate with interment at St. Johannes Cemetery.
The former Lorenda Bloedorn was born August 17, 1916, in Reedsville, daughter of the late Louis and Julie Gauger BLoedorn. She attended St. John-St. James School in Reedsville. Kurt Wagner and Lorenda Bloedorn were married in Iowa on June 14, 1941. Lorenda had been employed at Pine River Pre Pack, Laun Furniture and later as a cook at Meeme Elementary School. Kurt and Lorenda farmed in the town of Meeme for many years. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1981. Lorenda moved to Cleveland in 1982 and later moved to Howards Grove in 1996. Lorenda was a member of St. John-St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Cleveland, where she had been active with the Ladies Aide and Senior Bible Study. She enjoyed fishing at the cottage, playing cards and Country Western music.
Survivors include her four sons, Michael (Shirley) of Newton, David (Linda) of Maribel, TImmie (Mary) of Howards Grove, and Steven of Two Rivers; one daughter, Virginia (Doug) Buchholz of Cleveland; nine grandchildren, Amy, Jason, Jacob, Aaron, Rachel, Rebbecca, Stephanie, Jennifer and Kristine. She is also survived by one sister, Reida Evenson of Valders; and two sisters-in-law, Serena Grunwald, Howards Grove and Evelyn Bloedorn of Two Rivers, Lorenda was also preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Wagner; two brothers, Paul and Hubert Bloedorn; four sisters, Renata Jaeger, Arlene Toepel, Ruth Zeibel and Nora Frish.
Friends may acll at the Zimmer Fueral Home, 117 N. Wisconsin Drive, Howars Grove, from 4-9 p.m. Thursday (TONIGHT) and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established to St. John-St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in the name of Lorenda Wagner.
