Juanita Isabel Delgado, 92, of Key West, departed this life Saturday Jan. 15, 2005, at Lower Keys Medical Center. She was born in Key West on April 27, 1912, to Azariah and Ellen Curry.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Angel (Guy) Delgado; her four brothers, Percy Curry, Archie Curry, Robert Curry and Charles Curry; her three sisters, Alda Bush, Verona Albury and Dorothy Sweeting; her nieces and nephews, Glorina Carbone, Rose Kushman, John Kenneth Curry and Bradford Albury.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Percy (Betty) Curry Jr., Esther Margaret Schneider, Brenda (Stuart) Fox, Dianne Green, Alicia (Harry) Cook, Franklin (Pamela) Curry, Peggy (George) Saunders, Zudora Ras, Gail Surrency, Roger (Shirley) Sweeting, David (Phyllis) Sweeting, Linda (Manuel) Acevedo, Donald (Jean) Curry, Richard (Lynda) Curry, Cheryl (Richard) Bervaldi, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
Juanita was a devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she belonged to the Altar Guild, "Bats in the Bakery," and was past president of the ECW. She also served on the Vestry and was co-founder of St. Paul's coffee hour, which was named in her honor on her 90th birthday.
She was employed at Sears, Roebuck and Co. for many years and retired in 1984 at age 72.
Visitation for family and friends was held Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West. A requiem mass in celebration of Juanita's life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. David R. Wilt officiating. Burial will be in the Key West Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Juanita may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dean-Lopez Funeral Home.
