Ruth was born June 20, 1915' in Alamota, KS. To Ross and Vera Hanks, growing up on a ranch in Lane County Kansas during the dust storms of the depression. she attended high school in Garden City, KS and one year of college in Garden City.
Ruth married Kermit Sanders on January 6, 1936 in Kansas City, KS. They moved to Omaha, where Kermit worked for Massey-Harris and where twins Jean and John were born, later moving to Massey-Harris office. I Racine, WI, where son, Don was born. they later moved to Sharon Springs, KS. And opened a small general clothing store with Kermit'S mother, Mae Sanders. Ruth and Kermit ran Sander'sDry Good. Store for 30 years, after retiring moved to Eureka, building a home where they their two son live.
During her Kansas years while working in the Dry Goods store and raising her family she gardened enthusiastically. she grew beautiful flowers, wining many blue ribbons at the country's fair with her arrangements and becoming a flower show judge. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, home decorating and was active in the local. Garden club.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Kermit, her parents, Ross and Vera Hanks, brothers Lawrence, Gerald, and Cecil Lynn Hanks.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, two sons, brother, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren,
the family will be have a celebration of Ruth'S life Saturday at 2 p.m. March 15 at Don and Susan Sanders home in Eureka. intermittent will be next to Kermit in White Rock Cemetery, Pendennis, KS at a later date.
