SUE McNEIL CAREY (Kathleen Sue McNeil)
Sue Carey Corpus Christi, TXKathleen Sue McNeil Carey, known as 'Sue Sue' by her grandchildren, passed away on May 24, 2015, at the age of 71. She was born on December 4, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from W. B. Ray High School in 1962, and attended the University of Texas. Sue worked as a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines and modeled Pucci uniforms in Europe. Sue married Ralph Carey on November 25, 1966, in Corpus Christi, Texas. They spent three years in the Philippines, where Ralph practiced dentistry in the U.S. Navy. They moved back to Corpus Christi, and had two daughters, Michelle and Cristen. She enjoyed her participation in many local charitable, social and professional organizations, where she was past President of De Pineda, Las Doñas de la Corte, and Cotillion Club, and current President of Corpus Christi Women's Investment Club. She also served in the Junior League, American Cancer Society (Cattle Baron's Ball as Co-Chairman), Del Mar Foundation Board, Corpus Christi Ballet Board. She was very involved in her daughters' school and extracurricular activities. She will always be remembered for her gregarious personality. She dearly loved her family and friends. Sue loved being a grandmother and looked forward to spending time with Trey, Lauren, and Will. She was passionate about her travel adventures and enjoyed recording each with journals and photographs. Sue had a flair for entertaining and decorating her home for seasonal holidays. Sue is joined in death by her husband, Ralph Carey, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Randy Charba, grandson, Will Charba, and preceded in death by her father, Larry McNeil, mother and father-in-law; Marie and George Carey.Sue is survived by her daughter, Cristen Carey Daniel (Alan), mother, Pat McNeil, grandchildren: Trey and Lauren Daniel; brother, Michael McNeil (Julie), brother-in-law, Randy Carey (Catherine), nephews: Patrick McNeil (Rebecca), Brent Carey, Doug Carey (Yuko); niece, Katie McNeil Earls (Kevin); and special family friends, the Balas family and the Welch family.A private Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd at a later date.
