Death Notice
DECEASED - Two citizens of our Borough, at an advanced age, died last week, JAMES ATWOOD, on Thursday last, aged 78, and WM. INGRAM, on Thursday, aged 77 years. Both were men of great respectability, who had been useful and active citizens in their day and generation. Mr. Atwood was formerly a merchant of Philadelphia. Mr. Ingram was a practical and successful mechanic, but had retired from business years ago. He was one of the architects and builders of the Eastern Penitentiary, Phila. Alms house, House of Refuge, Chester county Court House and Jail, &c. The deceased lived near neighbors - were intimate friends - brothers-in-law - about the same age - they died within a few hours of each other, and were buried in the same grave yard.
