Jesse Howard Lawson Sr.
Jesse Howard Lawson Sr. passed away in his sleep on Friday, February 12, 1999 with family at his side.
Jess was the son of Martin Luther Sr. and Esther Lawson and brother of Dorthy, Oscar, Beulah, Ivy, Louise, Essie, Martin Luther Jr. and Mary Jo.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 56 years; three daughters and a son and their spouses, Glenda and Ron Williams Sr., Vickie and Martin Sigler, Margie and Doug Prickett and Jesse Jr. and Fatomeh Lawson; seven grandchildren, Ron Jr. and Debbie Williams, Julie and Craig Ashcraft, Tim and Bernice Sigler, Kenny Prickett, twins Tom and Keith Sigler and Tony Prickett; five great-granddaughters, Syrena Sigler, Netanya Sigler, Khia Prickett and twins, Hope and Courtney Ashcraft; and one great-grandson, Michael Ashcraft.
Jess was born in Tennessee and raised in Alabama. At the age of 17 he found his life partner, Lorene Mitchell who was only 14 at the time. After only eight months of courting, they were married and a beautiful life together began. Jess and Lorene lived in California for over 30 years and then moved to Parma. They have lived in Nampa for eight years.
Jess truly cherished his Bingo, Fun Buss and other friends he has made over the years and they will be part of the family forever.
Jess is remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and making everyone around him feel special. He was the best at everything he did and he taught us so much, most of all, Family First.
We know you are with us and we will see you soon. We love you and miss you, Dad.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999 at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
The family suggests memorials to the Olive Tree Congregation for the ministry of Pastor Tim Sigler.
Friends may call Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Flahiff Chapel, Caldwell.
