Born January 5, 1936, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Lincoln and Alma Griggs Wilson.
She was married to Norman C. Grady, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1988.
Sara was a 1954 graduate of Logansport High School and earned a degree from Indiana Business College in Logansport. She had been employed over 40 years as a medical secretary at the Logansport State Hospital.
Sara was a member of Bethel AME Church. She enjoyed reading and tending to her flower garden. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and teaching them to read.
Surviving are a son, Rex (Dinita) Grady, Walton, daughter, Lisa (Terry) Preston, Logansport, grandchildren, Candice Preston, Jessica (Billy) Wilson, Tiffany Preston, twins Brandi and Brandon Preston, Samantha (Jairo) Vazquez, T. J. Preston and Elizabeth Grady, great grandchildren, Lexie Elzbeck, Kia Doss and Jureall Vazquez, cousins, Kirk Reeves and Jacqueline Beavers, and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are brothers- and sisters-in-law, William and Monica Grady, Jean Grady, Charles and Bernetta Murray, Debra and John Brown and Raymond Johnston.
The Homegoing Celebration will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Carolyn H. Hardville-Pickens and Bishop Aaron Boyd officiating.Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, also at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
