A service for mechanic and welder Lubie R. Allen of Henry will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Jody Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery near Henry.
Chosen as pallbearers are Tim, Lonnie, Gary, Eddie and William Mack Allen, Lynn Melton, and Jimmy and Larry Wayne Gross.
Honorary pallbearers are Dannie Allen and Boyd Gross Jr.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Allen, 70, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at McKenzie Regional Hospital.
His wife Allene Gross Allen survives. They were married on July 23, 1960.
Born Jan. 10, 1937, in Dresden, he was a son of Homer and Josephine Ervin Allen, both deceased.
A member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, he attended the Church of God of Prophecy. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and operated a salvage yard in Michigan.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters: Patty (Paul) Greer of Henry and Belinda Allen of Tennessee; three sons: Kenny and Billy Allen, both of Taylor, Mich., and Randy (Cindy) Allen of Lincoln Park, Mich.;
Four sisters: Mary Ann (Vernon) Melton of Henry, Lydone Fuller of Michigan, Esther Glover of Arlington, Texas, Judy Rodrigo of Cullman, Ala.; two brothers: Mack (Cookie) Allen and Fred (Virginia) Allen, both of Henry; two sisters-in-law: Jennie Allen of Henry and Sue Allen of McKenzie; 14 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a son: Ronnie Allen; three sisters: Lynora Muzzall, Imogene Allen and Billie June Allen; and five brothers: Paul, Virgil, Billie, Lloyd and Henry Ford Allen.
