Amador G. Aguilar Sr.
Amador G. Aguilar Sr., 90, of Sunnyslope, died Sept. 7, 2001, at Columbia West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. Rosary devotions will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at St. Marys Catholic Church, Caldwell. A viewing will be held today from 1 until 8 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel.
Amador was born Sept. 13, 1910, in Saragoza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Canuto Aguilar and Dionicia Godina. He had one brother, Manuel Aguilar and one sister, Hilaria Barrera. He married Juanita Erevia on Dec. 15, 1934, in Rancho Nuevo Municipio Villa Gran Tamaulipas, Mexico. Together they had nine children, Genaro Aguilar of Ohio, Rosa Barbosa of Mexico, Alvina Pardo of Caldwell, Sylvestre Aguilar of Texas, Natalia Vega of Caldwell, Amador Aguilar Jr. of Arizona, Diana Aguilar of Caldwell, Jose M. Aguilar of Oregon and Manuel Barroso of Caldwell. In 1960, he moved to Sunnyslope with his family, where he worked as a contractor for various farmers in Caldwell. He was well respected in the community. He soon quit working as a contractor and went into business for himself purchasing land and raising livestock. He also built houses around the area to rent to the migrant farm workers. Amador was a hard working man that instilled pride in his family.
His grandchildren include, Herminia, Marcelina, Dagoberto, Roberto, Ruben, Ninfa, Alicia, Silvia, Rodimiro, Rodrigo, Alvaro, Miguel, Nicanor, Veronica, Norma, Rosa, Jesus, Cecilia, Connie, Daniel, Maria, Alicia, Angelica, Trina, Santino, Nicole, Renea, Marcos, Gracie, Jose, Anacelia, Jenny, Andrew, Nicky, Michael and Marcus and many great-grandchildren.

Amador enjoyed being at home with his family. He loved working outside and taking care of his land. He will be greatly missed by all of his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Juanita Aguilar, his brother, Manuel Aguilar and his sister, Hilaria Barrera.
