Ray Elmer Lyon, 53 year old resident of Bentonville for the last six years, died Saturday at Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at Bentonville Church of Christ with Pastor Donald Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery under the direction of Callison-McKinney Funeral Home. He was born on May 9, 1897 in Oberlin, Kansas to Harry Benjamin and Estella Catherine "Stella" (Davidson) Lyon. Survivors include his wife, Ellen (Bennett) Lyon; his sons, John Ramsey Lyon of Bentonville and Raymond Evans Lyon of Ottumwa, Iowa; his mother of Alva, Oklahoma; his brothers, Glenn Lyon and Jay Harry Lyon, both of Blackfoot, Idaho; and his sisters, Iva Viola Sharp and Mary May Moreland, both of Alva, Oklahoma.
