Final rites were held here on Thursday morning, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. in the Schaetter Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church for Jacob Heep, prominent retired Gillespie County farmer who died at his home in Fredericksburg at 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th.
The Rev. Fr. F. X. Wolf officiated at the funeral home and in the Requiem High Mass in St. Mary's Church. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
Heep was born in Gillespie County on April 14, 1867 the son of Peter and Anna Marie Heep; attaining the age of 77 years, 2 months and 20 days at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage with his surviving widow, Miss Anna Immell on March 23, 1893.
The couple made their home on a farm near Stonewall up until 25 years ago, when the moved to Fredericksburg to make their home. He had been ill for the past four years.
Survivors, in addition to his widow, include the following brothers and sisters; Theodore, George, Mrs. Otto Hopf and Mrs. Anton Weinheimer.
He was preceded in death by two children who died in infancy, three brothers, John, William and Joe and a sister Mrs. Faltin Novian.
