Passes at 64
CALDWELL— Robert R. Aikman, 64, of Cardwell, died early Saturday morning at a Boise hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1894, in Boise and attended schools in Boise and Moscow. He served in the Air Corps in France during World War I.
Mr. Aikman was married to Dorothy Bevington in May, 1925, at Gooding. In 1931, they moved to Caldwell where he operated the Aikman poultry farm and hatchery.
He was a director of the Caldwell Irrigation district, a member of the Caldwell School board for 12 years, secretary and director of the Idaho Egg producers, a member of the Mt. Moriah AF&AM, past high priest of the Royal Arch Masons of the Caldwell chapter, and past patron of the Hermosa chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Caldwell Kiwanis, Beta Theta Pi, the Boone Memorial Presbyterian church and a past clerk of the church session.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include six daughters, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Portland, Mrs. Mary Lindley of Chillicothe, Ohio, Mrs. Dorothy Kleinecker of Sparks, Nev., Mrs. Margaret Hopkins of Caldwell, Mrs. Phillis Kidney of Roseburg, Ore, and Mrs. Joan Schelhor of Alhambra, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. James Spofford of Boise, and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis chapel. The Rev. Dr. C. Warren Van Camp will officiate. Interment will be at Canyon Hill with the Mt. Moriah AF&AM in charge of graveside services.
