Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the church with a 4:00 p.m. parish prayer service and a 6:30 p.m. C.C.W. rosary. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Schools or Catholic Charities.

Celeste was born March 26, 1923 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Thoele) Vahling. She married Edward J. Dust on January 17, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 1980. Celeste was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women, Secular Franciscans and the Perpetual Adoration at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital. She also volunteered at Catholic Charities and at Lakeland Health Care Center in Effingham.
Celeste is survived by three sons, Tom (Wendy) of Merced, CA, Paul (Mary), and Mark (Susan), both of Effingham; three daughters, Nancy (Mark) Sargent of Lisle, Marilee (Dennis) Funneman of Effingham, and Jayne (Scott) Stockman of Peoria; thirteen grandchildren, Brittany Dust of Los Angeles, CA and Tommy Dust of Effingham, Dustin Sargent of Bloomington and Ed Sargent of Dallas, TX, Katelyn (Levi) Whitaker of Oblong and Megan Dust of Teutopolis, Tressie (Matt) McDonough of Chicago, Hannah, Drew, and Brian Dust, all of Effingham, Emily, Dylan, and Claire Stockman, all of Peoria; four great-grandchildren, Mikey, Madyson and Matthew Dust, and Colin McDonough; two step-grandchildren, Jenna (Eric) Jansen and Emily Stuckey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; brother, Frank; and sister, Josephine Pavell; daughter-in-law, Liz Jordan Dust.
