Ione Haupt, age 75, of 1209 South 25th St. , Manitowoc, entered into eternal life Thursday morning, March 1, 2012 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Ione was born on September 29, 1936 in Valders, Wiscsonsin . She was the daughter of the late Anton and Mathilda Throndson Erickson. Ione attended Valders High School and graduated with the class of 1954. After receiving her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Ione was employed for many years at Holy Family Memorial. She then became employed at St. Mary’s Home as a unit clerk and payroll clerk. Most recently she could be seen as a volunteer at Holy Family Memorial. On September 27, 1986 she married Glen Haupt at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2001. She was a member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church.
She is survived by six daughters, Shelly (Larry) Stock, Newton; Bonnie (Dennis) Gordon, Manitowoc; Susan (Red) Hackmann, Manitowoc; Julie (Jeff) Kartman, Manitowoc; Kathi (Brian) Pritzel, DePere; Peggy(Jeff) Kadow, Manitowoc; the father of their children, Sheldon Krueger, Manitowoc; fourteen grandchildren: Sherri and Brad Baumgart, Corey and Michelle Stock, Casey Stock, Michael and Sara Gordon, Erik Gordon and special friend, Jennifer Seibert, Jennifer Gordon and fiancé Chad Junk, Chad and Melissa Hackmann, James and Lauren Hackmann, Michelle Hackmann, Jennifer and Ryan Ott, Brandon Pritzl, Brevin Pritzl, Brianne Pritzl and Laurin Kadow; eight great grandchildren, Braden, Mia and Addison Baumgart, Emily and Ean Stock, Johnathon Gordon and Mollie Junk and Landon Hackmann.
Ione was the youngest of 10 children with the following who are still surviving; two brothers, Orrin Erickson, Appleton, WI, Alton (June) Erickson, Howards Grove; two sisters, Alice Leider, Manitowoc; Edna Martin, Green Bay, WI; sister-in-law, Doris Erickson, Valders, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Mathilda Erickson, husband, Glenn Haupt; three brothers, Pastor Allen Erickson, Bennet Erickson, Kennard Erickson; two sisters, Hazel Demske Achten, Florence Hauschel; four sisters-in-law, Helen Erickson, Vera Erickson, Helen Erickson and Jeanette Erickson; four brothers-in-law, Norman Demske, Robert Achten, Elmer Martin and Forest “Bud” Leider.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2011 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th St., Manitowoc. Officiating will be Rev. David Rosenow with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery, Valders, WI. Relatives and friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting family with funeral arrangements.
