Obituary:

Richard D Adams

November 15, 1934

August 10, 2012

Richard Dean Adams, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Reno on Friday.

Dick was born in West Jefferson, Ohio to Brady and Mary Dillion Adams, the second of eight children. At 16, he moved to California where he joined the U.S. Navy in 1952. During the Korean War, he served on the USS Hollister, receiving four service medals. He was very proud of his service and his country; he very much enjoyed talking with other veterans about their shared experiences.

In 1967, he met and married the love of his life, Molly Lyons. Together they raised their family of three sons and one daughter. Moving to Reno in 1971, Dick worked for several trucking companies, eventually retiring as District Manager from Willig Freight Lines in 1994.

He was an 11-year member of the Lemmon Valley Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Lemmon Valley Advisory Board and gave generously of his time to Sparks Christian Fellowship, his church of many years.

Dick loved to spend summers camping and fishing. His family and friends have great memories of sitting around the campfire, playing cards or just spending time with such a wonderful, kind and thoughtful man.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Bruce, Don, Paul, and Brady, and his sister Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Molly, his children Rick, Pamela (Steve) Bianco, Richard, Thomas (Jessica), his brother Fred, sister Barbara Moreno, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved with all his heart. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/rgj/obituary.aspx?pid=159179828#sthash.9d97EzFn.dpuf
