FRANCES 'MOZELLE' (ROBERTS) RUSSELL, 91, passed into eternity Saturday, June 13, 2015, while at Tuttle Care Center, Tuttle, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday, June 19, 2015, at the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan, with Ron Stough officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will visit with friends Thursday, June 18, 5:30-7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Mozelle was born February 14, 1924, in Quanah, Texas, to Albert and Mamie Roberts. She was a true sweetheart and the youngest of the family with five older brothers: Lee, Jake, Kenneth, Wilburn, and Lethal Roberts.

Mozelle attended Cameron College in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Leonard Barton Russell, Sr. The two were married on September 6, 1942, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together they had three children, Rebecca "Becky," Elizabeth "Beth," and Leonard "Bart," Jr.

During this life, she was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend. In her younger years she enjoyed activities such as softball and was an FFA sweetheart at Quanah High School.

Later she spent much of her time sewing, gardening, cooking and caring for her family. Mozelle took great care in being the secretary for the Associated Petroleum Employees Union for Mobil Oil, where she was responsible for keeping the 1,800 members updated.

Over the years she lived throughout Oklahoma, however, she called Duncan, Oklahoma, her home since 2008 before suffering a stroke. She was quite proud that Duncan was named the Crape Myrtle Capital of Oklahoma. During one hospital visit with her son, he asked, "Mom, is there anything I can bring you or do?" Her reply was, "Would you move the five crape myrtles from the back yard to the front?"

She was a faithful servant of God and a member of Eastside Church of Christ, Duncan.
Mozelle is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Murrin of Norman, Ok, and a son, Leonard B. Russell, Jr. and wife Jami of Blanchard, Ok; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard Russell, Sr. in July of 1988, her daughter, Elizabeth Carole Russell in March of 2014, and her five brothers.
