Mr. Hetzner was born in Ottawa on June 13, 1943, the son of Hyatt and Thelma (Sheedy) Hetzner. He married Delores M. "Dee" Roberts at St. Columbus Church in Ottawa on September 25, 1963. Mrs. Hetzner died on November 13, 2003.
He was the manager for Jobst Monument Company in Ottawa. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, the Ottawa Marble Association, the American Wood Carving Association, Ducks Unlimited, and the Ottawa Art League.
He is survived by a daughter, Ronda (David) Brozovich of Ottawa; by a grandson, Josh Brozovich of Ottawa; and by two brothers, Donald (GiGi) Hetzner and John Hetzner, both of New York.
A daughter, Kathleen Hetzner, died in infancy.
