Frank Adams (John Franklin Adams) was born 10 Sep 1856 in Keokuk County, Iowa (probably in or around Warren Township), the oldest of seven children of Mahlon Adams and Cynthia Ann Landers Adams.

By 1860, Frank's family had moved to a farm in Caldwell Township, Appanoose County, Iowa, and by 1870 they had returned to Keokuk County.

By 1876, Frank returned to Caldwell township where he married Mary Etta Huff, daughter of John Huff and Margaret Weber Huff. The couple were married 16 Nov 1876, probably at the Zoar Chapel near Exline in Caldwell Township.

By 1880, Frank & Mary Adams had moved to Hardin County, Iowa, and by 1885 to Marshalltown in Marshall County, Iowa. By 1891, the family had moved to Omaha, Nebraska and lived near the corner of 6th and Bancroft Streets until at least 1907. Family tradition indicates that in early life Frank was a hatter (maker of hats), but census and other records from 1885 on show that Frank was a teamster (drove a truck pulled by a team of horses or other animals), a trade practiced by most of his sons as well.

Sometime between 1907 and 1910 the family moved to Beckham County in Western Oklahoma to farm there. Farming in Beckham County was difficult. After a few years the family left there and moved around between Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, including some time spent at the Longview Farm in Lee's Summit Missouri.

During the 1920's, Frank & Mary returned to Omaha, Nebraska and remained there for the rest of their lives.

Frank & Mary had 9 children, 6 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and other descendants:
Lillie May Adams (1877-1988) married Frederick Harley Moyer and had one child, Minne Myrtle Moyer Brewer (1897-1982);
Bert (Bertie) Adams (1879-1947) married Mame Spears (no children);
Albert LeRoy Adams (1881-1932) never married;
Oscar Adams (1884-1936) never married;
Etta Adams (1886-1969) married Henry Robert Parvin (no children);
Gertie A. Adams (1891-1899) died in childhood;
Paul Lester Adams (1894-1971) married Jane Anna Adams and had one child, Pauline Virginia Adams Button (1919-2000);
Fred Adams (1896-1978) married Jettie June Jobe and had one child, Mary Jane Adams Harvey (1920-2008);
Anna M. Adams (1899-1965) married Charles H. Kelly and had three children: Robert C. Kelly (1920-2007), Frank A. Kelly (1921-1996), and Patricia Anne Kelly Weinert (living).

Frank Adams died 14 Oct 1938 and is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
