John Franklin Davis, Jr., 44, Nixa, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, following a short illness. Mr. Davis was a meatcutter for Safeway Stores, Inc., Springfield for 18 years. He was a US Navy Korean War veteran, a member of the Catholic church, a member of the Meatcutters Union, Local No. 340 and Post No. 78 of the American Veterans. He was a past commander of the American Veterans Post No. 82. Survivors include his wife, Dixie; three sons, Gregory Mark and Jeffrey Allen, addresses unknown, and John Franklin Davis, III, of the home; two daughters, Mrs.. Cynthia Jean Jackson and Miss Jennifer Davis, addresses unknown; a step-son, Robert Edward Nalley and a step-daughter, Miss Okeval Renee Nalley, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Davis, Sr., Half Pone Point, Md.; three sisters, Mrs. Jacqie Meares, Fayetteville, N. C., Mrs. Dolly Fink, Pakistan, and Mrs. Carol Miller, Upper Marlboro, Ms. and a grandson. Arrangements were announced by Ralph Thieme.

Services for John Franklin Davis, Jr. 44, Nixa, were at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery with military rites by the U. S. Naval Reserve and the Amvets. Mr. Davis died at 4:50 p.m. Monday in St. John's Hospital after a short illness.
