Grandson's Christopher and Forest. His friend Shirley. His siblings, Jerry (Gloria), Donnie (Pat) and Rose. Calvin was loved by his devoted daughter and family. He served in the National Guards, retired from Safeway, and he was a life time member of the Richmond Shag Club.My Daddy went to a care facility on Dec 16, 2013. Yes my daddy drank. My father was an alcoholic. He began drinking in 1978. He had smoked since age 14. COPD. Chronic Peripheral Vascular Disease, Stints in both legs, Chronic Systolic Heart failure, Chronic AFIB, Chronic Coronary atherosclerosis of Native Coronary Artery, Hypoxia, and 9 days ago Dr. told us he was eaten up with cancer, a large 6 inch plus tumor in his lungs, 17 small tumors in his liver that they could see, 2 tumors in his spine, cancer in his stomach, bladder and brain. He was in advanced stage 4. However with all this in mind, he laid down all drinking and smoking Dec 16, 2013 when he reached 113 lbs. He was doing really well and went up to 148 lbs. Then declined in weight the past three weeks drastically. My daddy was a hard worker, maybe mentally abusive, never physically, I can tell you that and its not because he was my daddy, but I know my daddy very well. Our relationship was on rocky road for many years but we rebuilt that relationship and it still was not perfect but it was our relationship with each other and as a daughter, I did right by my dad to the end and it was not easy. I will miss my daddy and he is much better now.
