W. Oscar Miller Passes Away at The Age of 86.
State Senator, District Attorney, Defeated for Congress

W. Oscar Miller, aged 68 years, lawyer and real estate man and for years a prominent figure in Democratic politics and the Odd Fellows Fraternity, died of a complication of ailments unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at his home, 610 Washington Street. Mr. Miller had been in declining health for some time and his condition took a turn for the worse two weeks ago.
Deceased was a native of Maxatawny Township. He was born August 28, 1857, the son of Joseph and Mary (Ziegler) Miller. Educated in the common schools of the county, he was graduated from Keystone State Normal School, Kutztown in 1875. He entered Lafayette College and later the University of Michigan and graduated from its Law School in 1879. He was admitted to the Berks Bar the following year and maintained his office at 610 Washington Street since the. He acquired considerable success as a real estate operator.
