Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Mary Lee R. Bayless, 63, at 2 p.m. at St. Marcellus Church in Rynella. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be conducted at Evangeline Funeral Home with visiting hours beginning Monday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. On Tuesday, visiting hours will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Bayless is a graduate of Bishop Byrn High School in Port Arthur, Texas, but was a native of New Iberia for the past 43 years.

After a long battle, Mrs. Bayless succumbed to cancer, at home with her family at 7:30 a.m. on August 4, 2007.

Mrs. Bayless is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca A. Bayless and is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Bayless Sr., a daughter, Melissa Migues, a son, Kenneth E. Bayless Jr., grandsons, Michael Dugas, Daniel Dugas, Benjamin Bayless, granddaughters, Savannah Derouen and Emily Bayless, a great-grandson, Mason Dugas, one brother, Warren Romero, two sisters, Olga Bernard and Gloria Cieglo.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jr., Mike Dugas, Daniel Dugas, Jay Steele, Jacob Steele and Benjamin Bayless. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Christopher Sorrel, Bob Peck and Jim Pearson.

Donations can be made in Mrs. Bayless' name to the American Cancer Society, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77033 and/or the Cancer Association of Iberia Parish, 2302 Blue Haven Drive, New Iberia, LA 70563.
