William C. Batson, Jr., 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Thursday
October 23, 2014 at Cedargate Care Center. He was born March 23,
1925 in Campbell, Mo. to the late William C. Batson, Sr. and Lucy
Hopper Batson. He was a long time resident of Poplar Bluff, Mo. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Ruby Jane
McGhee Nov. 29, 1947 in Piggott, Ar. She survives. William served in
the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Circuit Court
Judge for twelve years in Probate Division II. He enjoyed reading,
traveling, and watching T.V. He is also survived by one son, Billy
Batson, III; three daughters, Vicki Cummings of Winston Salem, NC.,
Susan Ilene Wilson, and Donna Jean Enochs both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.;
one sister Deronda Ricks of Springfield, Mo.; eleven grandchildren and
twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10 A.M. at
First Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 11 A.M. Dr.
William Vail will officiate. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
Arrangement are under the direction of Fitch_Hillis Funeral Home.
