The death certificate for Charles shown here says he was born on February 29, 1965. The 1900 Federal Census says he was born in February, 1856. There are two reasons for this discrepancy. First, it could be nothing more than two numbers transposed. Second, When he remarried after his first wife died, his bride was 32 years younger than Charles. Maybe he decided to tell her he was 9 years younger than he really was. Charles couldn't have been born on February 29, 1865, as that was not a leap year. However, 1856 was. That's why I'm using the birthdate above. I believe that is the correct date.

Charles first married Eunice Lydia Crosby in about 1878. She passed away in 1901. They had three children who lived: Lillian, George and Julia.

In about 1903, Charles married Agnes O Tjemmer, a lady born in 1888 in Sweden. They went on to have several children, including John, Sarah and Charles.

Charles was an electrical engineer in Pennsylvania.

In about 1930, Charles contracted tuberculosis. He passed away on February 13, 1935.
