Charles Godfrey "C.G." Clauss, 88, of Jena, and formerly of Oakdale, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2015.

He was born Sunday, July 11, 1926 in Nederland, Texas, to the union of his parents, Charles Godford and Rachel Young Clauss.

Mr. Clauss was owner and operator of his own pharmacy, a graduate of Loyola University with a doctorate in Pharmacy.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 7, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Ronnie Tarver officiating.

Interment followed in the Oakdale Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Rachel Belt and husband, John R. Belt, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Helen Virginia Smith Clauss; two sons, Dr. Charles D. Clauss and wife Robin, and Craig H. Clauss; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
