Mark W. Chelman age 53 of Waconia died on Friday May 29, 2015 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Mark Wayne Chelman was born the son of Leonard and Elaine (Kocina) Chelman on August 24, 1961 in Minneapolis. He grew up in Minneapolis, Farmington and Chaska. Mark graduated from the Chaska High School in 1979. Mark was united in marriage on May 19, 1984 with Julie Wohlforth at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.

Mark was always involved in motorsports sales and was a partner or sole owner in businesses in Minneapolis, Burnsville, Hutchinson and Chaska. In later years of his life he was a successful independent insurance salesman. He was a tinkerer and a great mechanic who loved snowmobiling and dirt biking. Mark loved to be around people and could visit with anyone. He’ll be remembered for his servant heart willing to help all.

Mark is preceded in death by his step-father John Hardy Sr.

Mark is survived by his wife Julie; son Jeff Chelman of St. Louis Park; mother Elaine Hardy of Chanhassen; father Leonard Chelman of Edina; siblings James Chelman, Christal Pigeon, Richard Hardy, Peggy Dunleavy, Bill Hardy, John Hardy Jr. and Tom Hardy; sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
