He married Eugenia Janet Etherton on august 2, 1964 in Murphysboro. Eugenia preceded him in death on November 9, 1986.
George was an accountant. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in 1948.
A U.S. Army veteran, George was a tech sergeant and served with the 972nd signal service battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Murphysboro.
Mr. Caveglia died at the age of 95 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
