James Lloyd McIntyre was the son of John McIntyre and Margaret Susanna Rachel McIntyre. After the death of his father, his family moved to Henderson NC to work in the North Henderson cotton mill.
He married first Addie Lee Aycock in 1919. They had five children, two who died in infancy and three other children Edith, Helen, and William. He married second Helen King peedin in 1940.
In a interview with the granddaughter of James Lloyd McIntyre she stated her grandfather came home from WWI a damaged man. She said he became a vagrant and wandered from town to town, state to state. She said he died out of state and his body was transported back to Henderson,NC for burial. She said James Lloyd McIntyre was killed in an automobile accident.

Note: In a telephone interview with the granddaughter of James McIntyre she stated that her grand father came home from WWII he was a changed man and lived the rest of his life as a hobo.When she was a child she was told her grandfather had died elsewhere and was buried in Rockbridge Cemetery.
