Sylvia F. Wenndorf, age 93, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday afternoon, June 22, 2015 at Riverwood Place, Manitowoc.
She was born on March 2, 1922 in Kewaunee, daughter of the late Eli and Anna (Dworak) Hessel. Sylvia was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1940. On July 4, 1942 she married Eugene G. Wenndorf in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2010. After high school, Sylvia was employed as a secretary at Mirro Aluminum Company, Manitowoc. She was then employed for many years in the accounting department at the Manitowoc Company until her retirement. After retiring, she was a teachers aide for several years at Jefferson. During her working years, she loved spending time at the cottage in Forest County. She enjoyed baking and cooking and along with her husband, Eugene, liked to sail on Lake Michigan.
Survivors include a son: Jeff Wenndorf, Stevens Point; and a sister: Lorraine Uek, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Private Graveside Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
