Josiah Phelps was born December 15, 1667 at Poquonock, Hartford County, Connecticut to Samuel and Sarah Griswold Phelps. He married Sarah Winchell April 26, 1690 at Poquonock and their children were: Samuel, Sarah, Lois, Damaras, Mary (#72698698), Jerusha, Pinney (possible child), Josiah, Lois, Ruth, Ruth (again) and Isaac. Josiah died at the age of 105, March 4, 1773 and is buried in Poquonock.
