She attended Hazelton Township, Corunna area schools and Owosso business college. She resided in the Perry area from 1942 through 1969 when she moved to Owosso. Laura married Leslie Crane on June 2, 1915. They had one daughter named Madeliene. After her husband died in 1937 she then married James H. Plowman in 1942., he died in 1968. Laura was a member of the Owosso First Free Methodist Church, Owosso Country Club, Owosso City Club and was involved in various other organizations. After graduating from business college she took a position under county clerk Arch Burnett. In 1937 after her first husbands death she became a court reporter in the Shiawassee-Livingston circuit Courts. She was the oldest active charter member of the Owosso Zonta International club.
