Ridgeley, WV- James Sloan Abbott, 66, of Ridgeley, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at home. Born April 14, 1948 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Alexander Abbott and Kathleen Eleanor (Speelman) Abbott.
He attended Allegany High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era.
Mr. Abbott had been employed at Maryland Dry Dock as an electrician/driller.
Among his survivors are his sister, Margaret Moscariello; four children, Diana Shawn Antonisen, James Abbott, Kelly Rowe, and Robert Abbott.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 11 AM until noon. The funeral service will follow at noon. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
