DEATH COMES TO TWO RIVERS MAN IN SLEEP
TWO RIVERS, May 14,-Nick Kaufman (sic) was found dead in bed this morning at
the home of William Schroeder, Washington street at which place he has been
boarding for a number of years. He has been working for Contractor Streu on
the street work and worked yesterday afternoon until about 3 o'clock when the
crew quit on account of the rain. He went to his boarding house and changed
clothes and then went to the bank, coming back for supper which he ate as
usual. After supper, he went down town, returned about 8:30. He had the habit
of lunching every evening before retiring. After having his lunch he went to
bed as usual. Being an early riser, he was missed, his fellow boarder Joseph
Rose went to his room to call him and found him dead. They immediately called
the doctor who said he had been dead for some time. Mr. Kaufmann is about
forty-eight years of age. Further in formation (sic) in regards to relatives
and funeral arrangements will appear in tomorrow's issue. About nine or ten
years ago a brother John, who was night clerk at the Hotel Hamilton also was
found dead in the morning after he had done all his evening porter work.
