Ada Pauline was born on March 2, 1914, to Ernest and Louise (Mueller) Belz on the family farm near Diesem, North Dakota. She grew up and attended school in the Diesem and Edgeley, North Dakota areas. Ada was married to Victor Paul on February 25, 1942, in Edgeley. The couple lived and farmed in the Fullerton, North Dakota area, until Victor's death in November of 1958. In 1967, Ada moved into Oakes, North Dakota, and worked at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center and the JC Penney store. She married Alfred Willardsen on June 30, 1971. Alfred died in 1994. Ada continued to live in Oakes and entered the Oakes Good Samaritan Center in May of 2003. Ada was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oakes and a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church in LaMoure. She was a charter member of the Trinity L.W.M.L. Ada enjoyed embroidering and crocheting many pieces for her family. All of her grandchildren received afghans from Grandma Ada. Ada died on Friday, July 16, 2004, at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center in Oakes. She was 90 years old. She is survived by two sons, Richard and Loren; a brother, Ralph Belz; two sisters, Dorene Anderson, and Mabel Saufley; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
