Old Resident dead.
Martin Kowash, resident of the city for more than a half century, died at the
family home at 1413 Twentieth street Monday afternoon, aged sixty-eight. He had
been ill for a long time. The funeral was held yesterday morning with services
at St. Luke's Catholic church and burial was at Pioneer Rest (sic) Cemetery.
Mr. Kowash is survived by his widow and five daughters, Mrs. Heber Clayton, Mrs.
Walter Kelleher, Mrs. Peter Strong and Miss Lizzie of this city and Mrs. Maxwell
Brown of Detroit, Mich.

OLD RESIDENT PASSES
Martin Kowash, for over 50 years a resident of this city, passed away at his home,
1413 Twentieth Street on Monday afternoon, aged 68. Deceased had been in ill health
for several weeks, suffering from dropsy but an attack of pneumonia was the
immediate cause of his death.
Mr. Kowash, was for many years employed as watchman at the chair factory which was
located on the present site of the Aluminum Goods Plant No. 4. He was dependable in
his work and an upright and industrious citizen. Of late years he was employed at
Aluminum Goods Plant 4 until two months ago when he was compelled to cease on account
of failing health.
He was a native of Bohemia and has been a resident here since he was a lad of 16
years. He leaves his widow and five daughters who were all present at the funeral.
They are Mrs. Heber Clayton, Mrs. Walter Kelleher, Mrs. Peter Strong and Miss Lizzie
of this city and Mrs. Maxwell Brown of Detroit, Michigan. The funeral was held on
Thursday morning from St. Luke's church. Interment was at Pioneer's Rest (sic).

Wife of Goods Co. Employe Gets 1500
Payment of $1500 insurance has been made to Mrs. Mary J. Kowash, widow of Martin
Kowash, deceased, an employe of plant No. 4 of the Aluminum Goods Company at Two
River. Mr. Kowash, who was insured under the group plan of the company, died Nov.
3 at age of 67 years. His insurance amounted to $1500 and has been paid.
