Funeral services were held for Hayes George of Dyess at the Bassett Cemetery Monday afternoon.
Mr. Hayes, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willous George met death Saturday, May 22, when the car he was driving ran into a tree at Wilson. Trying to keep from hitting a negro scar, which was coming toward him, George pulled over. The car door flew open and the car crashed into a tree. George’s neck was broken and his chest crushed. He died in a few minutes following the wrecked.
Other occupants of the car were Mrs. George, his mother, who was riding in the front seat with him, and his sister, Vondella. Mrs. George received minor bruises and Miss George suffered an injured eye.
His survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willous George, one sister, Vondella George, and one brother, who lives in Detroit, Mich.
