Ann M. Kumbalek, age 80, of 1018 Green Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay.

She was born July 20, 1925, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Anton and Ida (LaFond) Vaclavik. Ann was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, Class of 1943.

On July 11, 1944, she married Hilary L. Kumbalek at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death April 5, 2000. Ann was employed for 15 years with North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center as a dietary aid.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: MaryAnn & Bill Hoitink, Sheboygan, Ellie & Mike Engelbrecht, Manitowoc, Jayne DeWindt & special friend, Larry Major, Manitowoc; twelve grandchildren: Barbara (Kevin) Phillips, Scott (Jill) Grunert, Jeni (Ben) Braeger, Shannon (Sgt. Ted) Burrous, Anton Pietenpol and fiancee, Holly Kornely, Mandy Engelbrecht and fiancee‚ Scott Volz, John (Heidi) Pietenpol, Kory DeWindt and fiancee Autumn, Chris DeWindt and fiancee Michelle, Dareth DeWindt, Camylle DeWindt and Desiree DeWindt; sixteen great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Art Vreeke, Manitowoc. Other brothers-in-law,sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Cy & Bea Vaclavik; a sister: Arlene Vreeke; a grandson: Paul DeWindt and two sons-in-law: James Lutzke and Butch DeWindt.

Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as a good and true friend. She loved music, pets, crossword puzzles and her favorite TV Show, Law & Order.
