A. Marjorie Bertsche, 91, of Chenoa, formerly of Flanagan, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Sunday (June 28, 2015) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, surrounded by her family.

Marjorie was born March 10, 1924, in Armstrong, the daughter of Clarence and Flora Foster Frederickson. She married Milton Bertsche on June 27, 1948, in Rankin. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bruce Bertsche.

Marjorie graduated from Illinois State Normal University, was a home economics teacher and worked as a substitute teacher into her 80s.

She enjoyed sewing and making cinnamon rolls for her grandchildren.

She was a member of Meadows Mennonite Church and later the Flanagan Christian Church and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She volunteered at OSF Saint James Hospital in Pontiac and also Spare and Share in Gridley.
