Frank E. Kulpa, Sr. age 87, of 2621 Neshotah Rd., Two Rivers, died peacefully,
Friday morning Nov. 15, 2002 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at St. Peter the
Fisherman Parish, St. Luke Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial will be Rev. William O’Brien with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery,
Two Rivers.
Frank was born in Casco on Oct. 31, 1915, son of the late Francis and Anna Jonies
Kulpa. On April 26, 1939 he married the former Grace Frasch at St. Luke Catholic
Church, Two Rivers. Frank was a commercial fisherman for 50 years. He retired to
his summer home in Pensaukee and spent the past 20 winters in Winter Garden, Fla.
Frank was a member of the Two Rivers Knights of Columbus and a charter member of
the Happy Hoppers Club. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, hunting, fishing and all
sports.
Frank is survived by his wife: Grace, Two Rivers; seven children and their spouses:
Mary Lou (Daniel) Messman, Two Rivers, Eileen (Dennis) Weina, Pensaukee, Joanne
Holly, Two Rivers, John (Betty) Kulpa, Pensaukee, Kenneth (Patty) Kulpa, Steven
(Julie) Kulpa, Frank Kulpa Jr. and special friend Grace, all of Two Rivers; 21
grandchildren: David (Tami) Messman, Annette (Dennis) Meneau, Scott Messman and
special friend Cheri Olson, Daniel Messman Jr., and special friend Melody Bruchert,
Sr. Debra Weina, Dale (Alice) Weina, Donald (Laura) Weina, Denise (Mark) Wilson,
Dennis Jr. (Rachael) Weina, Deanne Wells, Texas, John Jr. (Kimberly) Kulpa, Joey
Kulpa, Randy (April) Kulpa, Jeremy Kulpa and special friend Chris Phillips, Jason
Kulpa, Renee Kulpa and special friend Rob, Stephanie, Samanatha and Stacey Kulpa,
Frank Jr. and Megan Kulpa; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters: Anna Schuster,
Madison, Cele Kuklinski, Two Rivers, and Vicky Hecker, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law:
Elva Kulpa, Two Rivers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. Frank was also preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Michael Messman;
a son-in-law, Thomas Holly; two brothers, Stanley and Walter; five sisters, Eleanor,
Helen, Katie, Frances and Marie; one infant sister-in-law, Ruth; a sister-in-law,
Beatrice Frasch; and a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert and Jennie Frasch.
The family will greet relatives and friends Monday morning Nov. 18, 2002 at St.
Peter the Fisherman Parish, St. Luke Site, Two Rivers from 10 a.m. until the time
of Mass at 12 p.m.
All the family was present to help Frank. A special Thank You to his daughter and
son-in-law, Eileen and Dennis who took care of Pa up north to give Ma a rest. We
wish to thank Dr’s. Gahl, Thayer and Diaz, all their nurses and especially Holy
Family Hospice for the special care they gave Frank in his final days. We also
wish to thank Fr. Larry, Sr. Dorothy, Fr. O’Brien and all the visits from Deacon’s
Sustman and Coenen.
In Frank’s lifetime he was a mason, welder, electrician, mechanic, carpenter, logger,
farmer, fisherman, trapper, hunter, roofer, barber, hairdresser, painter, dancer,
and lover. He could also knit and crochet. Frank would help anyone who needed help
and enjoyed it.
The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers is assisting
the family with funeral arrangements.
