Barbara Kay Adams of Germantown, Maryland passed away at her home of natural causes on Friday, June 26, 2015. Barbara was born on July 4, 1942 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania to Basil Charles and Irene Virginia (Twardesky) Kalamets. She graduated from Redstone High School in 1960.

She lived in a small coalmine area of Grindstone, PA and while growing up moved onto Cleveland, OH; McClellandtown, PA; Gaithersburg, MD and settled in Germantown, MD.

She started off working at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. She went onto being our mother for many years picking up jobs along the way when needed. She worked at the National Geographic Society and J.C. Penney department store. She moved on to Mamsi, Secure Medical, and Health South where she worked as a receptionist until retirement.

She loved her family with all her heart; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to travel with family members or visit family members and friends. If you wanted to talk to her- make it between her TV shows especially General Hospital and NCIS. She had many friends and got called “Granny” by most. She always listened to the youngsters and would give them her sound advice and helped whenever she could. She stayed in contact with many of her high school friends or co-workers and could remember just about everyone’s birthday. She was so loving and giving to all. You could tell when she was upset or sick, beware the “Charlie” would come out. She touched so many hearts and will be missed by all.

Preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Irene Kalamets (Grindstone, PA); her brother- Charles Raymond Kalamets (Norton, OH); and her granddaughter: Jessica Irene Adams (Morgantown, WV).
