Dorothy M. Wilke, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
She was born on June 8, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Vodwaska) Smrz. Dorothy was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On July 9, 1949 she married Russell Wilke at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1986. Dorothy loved traveling with Russell and was a great mother and grandmother. She was also an avid Packer fan. Dorothy enjoyed working at the Manitowoc County Airport where she made many friends and also enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Kathy Wilke, Charlotte, NC, Robert and Julie Wilke, Minneapolis, MN; a daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Jack Zinger, Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren; Ryan Wilke, New York City, NY, Alissa (Parker) Ward, Atlanta, GA, Kelsey Wilke, Washington, DC, Allie Wilke, Minneapolis, MN, Ross Wilke, Minneapolis, MN, Brent (Jamie) Bookwalter, Ashville, NC, Taylor Bookwalter, Grand Rapids, MI; and a sister: Charlotte, WI. She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Liz (Peter) Stueck and a brother.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 until 12:45 p.m.
