JOSEPH MULVIHILL RITES HELD; RELATIVES PRESENT.

Funeral services were held a Vicksburg Sunday morning for Michael Joseph Mulvihill, 83, prominent resident of that city and father of Mrs. J. J. Deveraux, of Monroe. Monsignor John Pendergrast of St. Paul's cathedral, Vicksburg, officiated. Burial was made in Cedar Hill cemetery at Vicksburg.

Mr. Mulvihill is survived by six children and 10 grandchildren. The children, besides Mrs. Devereaux are Misses Margaret, Helen, and Katie Mulvihill, M.J. Jr., and P. W. Mulvihill, all of Vicksburg and Sister Mary Claudia of Greensburg, Pa.

All of the children were present at the last rites. Mr. and Mrs. Devereaux were accompanied by their children, Margaret, Keeney, John, Mary Louise, Mike, Helen, and Kathleen Devereaux. Mrs. Ted Mahr, Mrs. F. X. Shaughnessy and Mrs. Tom Hunt, all of Monroe, also attended the funeral.

Mr. Mulvihill in past years was prominentally identified with the business life of Vicksburg, and also served as postmaster. Within recent years, he was the recipient of the F. K. Kirsch silver cup awarded annually by the Vicksburg Rotary Club to the citizen having performed the most outstanding civic service.

He had been a Republican national committeeman. At the time of his death he was financial secretary of the Vicksburg Knights of Columbus.

Military honors were conducted at the grave by members of the 155th infantry of the Mississippi national guard, of which Mr. Mulvihill was an honorary colonel.
